Azerbaijan, Switzerland explore new pathways for bilateral cooperation
On April 15, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov of Azerbaijan received Deputy State Secretary of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Eurasia Division of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Pierre-Yves Fux, with the meeting focusing on the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland.
The discussions covered a broad range of areas, including political dialogue, economic and trade cooperation, energy, transport, and other sectors of mutual interest, Caliber.Az reports per the ministry.
The sides also reviewed collaboration within international organisations and platforms, as well as Switzerland’s upcoming priorities as Chairperson-in-Office of the OSCE.
Regional and international security issues were likewise addressed, including the post-conflict situation in the region, Azerbaijan’s peace agenda, reconstruction and restoration efforts, and demining activities. Additional views were exchanged on other matters of shared concern.
On the same day, another round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Switzerland took place. The talks were co-chaired by Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev and Switzerland’s Deputy State Secretary Pierre-Yves Fux.
