Azerbaijan’s Speaker warns of rising conflicts amid global uncertainty
Growing global uncertainty is fuelling conflicts, rising tensions, and deepening crises, according to Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, who called for stronger international cooperation to build a more just world.
Speaking at the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Istanbul, Gafarova warned that worsening inequality and persistent instability risk undermining the foundations of global peace and justice, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
She stressed that meaningful progress can only be achieved through joint efforts, urging parliamentarians worldwide to take an active role in promoting peace and safeguarding fairness.
“Parliamentarians must promote peace, defend justice, and ensure that decisions reflect the interests of future generations,” she said, highlighting the importance of responsible governance in an increasingly volatile international environment.
Gafarova also underscored the role of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in amplifying parliamentary voices in global decision-making, adding that collective efforts should be guided by the principles of cooperation, dialogue, and multilateralism.
