US continues to urge Azerbaijan, Armenia to reach peace, State Department spox says
US State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller has said that the US continues to urge Azerbaijan and Armenia to try to reach a long-term agreement.
“I don’t have any announcements to make, but we continue to encourage both sides to try to reach a durable, lasting [peace] agreement,” Caliber.Az quotes him as addressing a briefing on February 27.
The next meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia is scheduled for February 28-29 in Berlin.
On February 27, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov left on a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.
Within the framework of the visit, a regular round of talks between the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia on the draft "Bilateral Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations", as well as meetings with German officials are scheduled.
