The US embassy in Azerbaijan has refuted false information about the Baku-Washington relations.

The Armenian media’s unfounded and false information about the Baku-Washington relations was refuted by the US embassy in Azerbaijan, Report informs citing the embassy’s statement on social networks.

“Ambassador-designate Libby was sworn in at a ceremony on January 4. Assistant Secretary of State Julieta Noyes, Libby’s wife Danusia and son Andrew also attended the event. Libby looks forward to returning to Baku and presenting his credentials to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev as the 11th US ambassador to Azerbaijan,” the embassy’s statement said.

Earlier, the Armenian media stated that Ambassador Mark Libby had been in Baku for a month, but he had not been invited to present his credentials to President Aliyev.

The diplomat is currently in the US.
