US food giant selling business in Russia
US food giant Kraft Heinz has put its business up for sale in Russia.
Currently, two baby food factories and other local brands “Umnitsa” and “Sami s usami” are on sale, according to the Russian news service Kommersant.
The US company plans to sell baby food plants located in the Stavropol and the Ivanovo regions. The total capacity of these production facilities is about 30,000 tonnes of liquid, dry cereals and purees annually.
In turn, representatives of the Kraft Heinz concern declined to comment on "market rumours".
According to unconfirmed reports, part of the assets of the US company may be sold to the “Chernogolovka” group of companies, which is engaged in the production of sweets, drinks and snacks. Among other things, it personally produces a range of baby food products.
