Türkiye seizes over one ton of narcotics in nationwide anti-drug operation VIDEO
An extensive anti-drug operation across 75 Turkish provinces over the past three weeks has resulted in the seizure of more than one ton of narcotics and the detention of over 2,300 suspects, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on X.
Authorities confiscated 1 ton and 24 kilograms of various narcotic substances, along with 5.375 million narcotic pills, Yerlikaya said, Caliber.Az reports.

The coordinated effort involved the Public Prosecutor’s Offices, the Narcotics Crime Department of the General Directorate of Security, and Provincial Police Departments. In total, 3,335 teams, 8,340 officers, 37 air vehicles, and 53 narcotic detection dogs took part in the sweeping operation.
Operations were conducted in major cities including Izmir, Ankara, Gaziantep, Adana, Samsun, Konya, Istanbul, Bursa, Shanliurfa, Mersin, Antalya, Balikesir, Manisa, Kayseri, Diyarbakir, Denizli, Kocaeli, Osmaniye, Tekirdagh, Mughla, Sakarya, Van, Hatay, and Siirt, as well as dozens of other provinces.
A total of 2,311 suspects were detained.
“I congratulate our governors, the Public Prosecutor’s Offices coordinating the operations, our Provincial Police Chiefs, and our heroic police officers who carried out these operations,” Yerlikaya wrote. “Drugs are humanity's greatest enemy! We will continue to fight against the poison traffickers who dare to engage in this, for the sake of our country and humanity.”
