Iran arrests five suspected Mossad agents in Lorestan
Iranian authorities have detained five individuals accused of espionage on behalf of Israel's Mossad intelligence agency, according to a fresh report by Iran's NourNews.
The arrests were made by the intelligence service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Lorestan province, located in western Iran.
The suspects were allegedly attempting to carry out objectives set by Mossad in the cities of Khorramabad, Borujerd, and Dorud. The IRGC's intelligence unit identified and apprehended the individuals as part of ongoing efforts to counter foreign espionage activities within the country.
Notably, Iranian authorities have reported a wave of arrests targeting individuals allegedly linked to Israel's Mossad since June 14, 2025, reflecting Tehran's urgency to counter perceived internal threats amid the ongoing conflict.
On June 15, Iran arrested two individuals in Savojbolagh County, Alborz province, on suspicion of spying for Israel’s Mossad. Authorities also dismantled a "clandestine drone-bomb factory" on the outskirts of Rey, south of Tehran, seizing 200 kg of explosives, 23 drones, launch platforms, and suicide-drone components. The operation led to the arrest of at least 28 alleged Mossad agents across several provinces. The suspects reportedly produced bombs, explosive materials, booby traps, and electronic devices in their hideout.
On June 17, Iranian intelligence uncovered customised launchers for Israeli-made Spike missiles, equipped with internet-based automation and remote control systems, reportedly intended to suppress Iran’s air defences. Operated by agents linked to Mossad, the launchers reflect a covert effort to weaken Iran’s military security.
Separately, on the same day, police in Esfahan Province discovered an illegal drone assembly workshop, seizing parts and equipment for drones and micro-UAVs. Four suspects, described as "mercenaries of the Zionist regime," were detained.
