US urges Israel to revise weapon use in West Bank after death of US citizen
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said that the US administration believes that Israeli forces in the West Bank should make changes in the way they use weapons after the death of activist Aishenour Ezgi Eiga, who had US citizenship.
He made the remarks at a press conference in London with British Foreign Minister David Lammy, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“In our view, Israel's security forces must make fundamental changes to the way they operate in the West Bank, including changing the way they use weapons,” the US diplomat said.
He added that the US side is studying the results of the investigation into the incident and will convey to the Israeli leadership the need for changes.
Blinken added that the US considers the activist's death unprovoked. “Her killing was unprovoked and unjustified. No one should be killed for participating in a protest,” he said.
