Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan chart path to deeper cooperation
Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov has met with Azerbaijani Ambassador to the country, Huseyn Guliyev, to discuss the growing bilateral relations between the two nations.
In a post shared on the social media platform X, Saidov emphasized the unprecedented development of ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The Minister expressed that both nations are deeply committed to further enhancing bilateral cooperation and will continue to work together to advance mutual interests.
Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan share a close relationship, rooted in common historical, cultural, and linguistic ties as both nations are part of the Turkic world. Their cooperation spans multiple areas, including political, economic, cultural, and military domains, and has strengthened in recent years, reflecting both countries' strategic interests in enhancing their regional influence and fostering mutual development.
Azerbaijan has become a transit hub in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), also known as the "Middle Corridor," which is of strategic interest to Uzbekistan as it seeks diversified routes to access European and global markets. Azerbaijan’s geographic location makes it a gateway for Uzbekistan’s trade through the Caspian Sea, connecting Central Asia with Europe.
