Volume of non-ferrous metal handled in Baku Port up by over 85%

In January-July of 2023, the volume of non-ferrous metal handled at the general cargo terminal at the Baku International Sea Trade Port increased by 85.6 per cent compared to the same period in 2022 and made up 245,000 tons.
The total volume of non-ferrous metal products transferred during the same period in 2022 was more than 132,000 tons, Report informs, referring to the Port.
Aluminium, zinc, copper cathode and tin cargoes imported from Kazakhstan made up the main part of non-ferrous metal products.
It should be noted that Baku Port, which was inaugurated on May 14, 2018 with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev, has a loading capacity of 15 million tons, including 100,000 TEU containers, in the 1st phase.
