Western Azerbaijani Community accuses France of meddling in regional affairs

The Community of Western Azerbaijan has issued a scathing rebuke against France, alleging the country's involvement in advancing nefarious geopolitical agendas in the region.

The condemnation follows the publication of an interview in the French newspaper Le Figaro featuring a figure associated with the defunct regime established by Armenia in occupied Azerbaijani territories.

In a statement reported by Caliber.Az on March 28, the Community of Western Azerbaijan denounced the individual interviewed, accusing them of actively plotting against Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

"This man, who remained at large only due to the mercy of Azerbaijan, has now again plotted to encroach on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. He has called on external forces led by France to interfere in the affairs of the region, and has opposed peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia," the statement read.

The community further highlighted the persistence of separatist elements who continue to assert illegitimate titles such as "president" and "minister," with the tacit support of the Armenian government.

"It is not by chance that the interview was published exactly in the French edition. Some forces, led by France, seek to implement their nefarious geopolitical plans in the region and do not want to achieve peace here," the statement continued.

The Community of Western Azerbaijan vehemently called upon Armenia to abandon its policy of revanchism and militarization, urging instead for a commitment to peace and the creation of conditions conducive to the repatriation of displaced Western Azerbaijanis to their rightful homes.

“We demand from Armenia to stop its policy of revanchism and militarization, to take the path of peace with Azerbaijan and create conditions for the return of Western Azerbaijanis to their homes," the community said.
