Western Azerbaijani Community calls on int’l agencies to quit double standards
The Western Azerbaijani Community called on international organisations to abandon double standards and take a fair position, Spokesperson for the Western Azerbaijan Community Ulviyya Zulfiqar has said.
Zulfiqar made these remarks at the presentation of the book entitled “Return to Western Azerbaijan: Our Material and Cultural Heritage on Historical Lands”, Report informs.
She noted that the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Azerbaijanis was destroyed in Armenia even before the deportation of Azerbaijanis.
“More than 300 mosques and about 500 cemeteries were destroyed in Western Azerbaijan,” Zulfiqar added.
She further said that the statements made by international organisations about the threat to Christian monuments in Karabakh are absurd, these monuments are being restored through the Azerbaijani state budgetary funds.
“We do not see any calls or condemnation in connection with the destroyed cultural heritage sites of Azerbaijanis. We call on international organisations to abandon double standards and take a fair position,” she concluded.
