WUF13 gives Uzbekistan platform to highlight 9-year reforms, says official
Hosting WUF13 in Azerbaijan offers Uzbekistan a valuable platform to showcase the wide-ranging reforms implemented across the country over the past nine years, Orifjon Fayziev, First Deputy Chairman of the National Committee on Urbanization and the Housing Market of Uzbekistan, told Report on the sidelines of the forum in Baku.
He highlighted that Azerbaijan has established a conducive environment for the exchange of experience and the discussion of global urbanization reforms.
"First of all, I would like to thank brotherly Azerbaijan for the excellent organization of WUF13. This is a great opportunity for Uzbekistan to present the global reforms that have been carried out over the past nine years," he noted.
Fayziev pointed out that urbanization in Uzbekistan is progressing rapidly, with the recent creation of a new national committee focused on urbanization and housing construction.
"This committee has been entrusted with very significant tasks to ensure that the urbanization level reaches 60% by 2040," he emphasized.
He added that the forum serves as an important opportunity to learn from Azerbaijan and other countries, supporting Uzbekistan in achieving its targets and advancing its urban development policy.
