Putin: West deliberately destroying European security system
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the collective West is purposefully destroying the European security system.
"The so-called collective West is purposefully destroying the European security system, putting together more and more new military alliances," Putin said while addressing participants and guests of the Moscow Conference on International Security on August 16, according to TASS.
"The US and its vassals are grossly interfering in the domestic affairs of sovereign states. They organize provocations, state coups and civil wars. Using threats, blackmail and pressure, they attempt to force independent states to bend to their will and live according to rules that are alien to them,” he added.
Putin said that "all this is being done with one goal - to hold on to its dominance, using this model that allows it to feed off the entire world, as it has done for centuries, and this model can only be sustained by force."
He pointed out the fact that the NATO bloc is moving to the East, bolstering its military infrastructure, including the deployment of missile defence systems and increasing offensive forces' attack capabilities.
"On paper, this is hypocritically declared as a need to boost European security, but in reality, the exact opposite is happening. At the same time, Russia's proposals from December last year were simply ignored once more," Putin concluded.
