Lawyer: Doctors reveal poisonous substance in Georgian ex-president's blood
Arsenic has been revealed in blood of Georgian ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili, who is in a Georgian prison.
The politician's lawyer Shalva Khachapuridze said that the imprisoned ex-president is in very poor condition and cannot move therefore, most likely, he will be brought to the courtroom in a special wheelchair, RBC-Ukraine reports citing the Mtavari TV channel.
It will be possible to see the ill ex-president for the first time in several months.
The US experts are expected to prepare the final toxicological report.
“The analysis has not been obtained yet, it will be obtained today, but after a phone talk it turned out that a new substance, arsenic, was revealed,” Khachapuridze added.
Earlier, three heavy metals were found in Saakashvili's body, Head of the Empathy Centre Mariam Jishkariani said last week.
She added that proceeding from the analysis, mercury, bismuth and barium were found in the hair of the third president.
