Lachin road open for humanitarian traffic: fourteen vehicles pass in two days
On the Khankendi-Lachin road passing through Shusha, necessary conditions have once again been created for the movement of supply vehicles belonging to Russian peacekeepers.
A journalist of the Baku-based Report news agency reported from the scene on December 26, saying, there were no obstacles to the movement of three more supply vehicles belonging to Russian peacekeepers from Lachin to Khankendi.
This once again proves that the action does not in any way impede the movement of humanitarian vehicles.
Furthermore, on December 25, an unhindered passage in both directions was provided to a total of 11 vehicles belonging to Russian peacekeepers and the International Red Cross Committee.
On the section of the Khankendi-Lachin road passing through Shusha, near the checkpoint of the temporary Russian peacekeeping mission, a protest action of Azerbaijani activists and members of environmental non-governmental organizations (NGOs) has been going on for the 15th day, demanding an end to environmental terror in the Karabakh economic region.
As a result of negotiations held on December 3 and 7, 2022 with the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, a delegation consisting of specialists from the Ministries of Economy, and Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Property Service under the Ministry of Economy and AzerGold Company was to conduct a preliminary monitoring of the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits minerals on the territory of Azerbaijan, where peacekeepers are temporarily stationed, as well as related environmental and other problems. However, due to the inaction of the peacekeepers, the monitoring did not take place.
