Oil from Kashagan field transported via Aktau-Baku route for first time PHOTO
Oil from Kazakhstan's Kashagan field has been transported via the Aktau-Baku route for the first time.
According to Report, this was reported by the press service of the Azerbaijani Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO).
"Oil produced at Kazakhstan's Kashagan field has been transported via the Aktau-Baku route for the first time. Oil transportation via the new route was carried out by tanker "Akademik Khoshbakht Yusifzade" of ASCO sea transport fleet," the report says.
The first batch of 6,900 tons of oil was loaded on the tanker. The tanker will deliver oil from the Kazakh port of Aktau to the Azerbaijani terminal Sangachal.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan's KazTransOil JSC will ship 7,000 tons of oil from the Kashagan field by transit through Azerbaijan this month.
