Azerbaijan repatriates 3 citizens sentenced to imprisonment in Iraq
As a result of the coordinated work carried out by the Azerbaijani government, as well as phased and coordinated measures of state structures, three female citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who had served their sentence in Iraq were brought to the country.
In the next stage, it is planned to bring to the country 2 more Azerbaijani citizens who have served their sentences, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Caliber.Az.
"At present, work on the gradual return to the country of female citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan imprisoned in Iraq is continuing. In this regard, appeals have been sent to the relevant government agencies of Iraq," the Foreign Ministry reported.
It should be noted that 288 children of female citizens have been returned to Azerbaijan as a consequence of steps conducted by the Azerbaijani government.
