Suspect in US stabbing case of Palestinian child gets charged with first-degree murder
A 71-years-old American has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and battery after fatally stabbing a Palestinian child in the US state of Illinois and injuring his mother in what appears to be a hate crime.
As reported by ABC 7 Chicago, the tragedy occurred over the weekend, when Joseph Czuba encountered the boy, Wadea Al-Fayoume and his mother, to whom he had been renting out a property.
As stated by the injured mother, he started a conversation with her about the situation in Israel and Jerusalem, to which she replied with a peaceful message. Visibly in anger, he responded by attacking the family with a knife.
US President Joe Biden has condemned the vicious attack on an innocent family, publishing a message on his official X account. "This act of hate against a Palestinian Muslim family has no place in America. As Americans, we must come together and reject Islamophobia and all forms of bigotry and hatred. I have said repeatedly that I will not be silent in the face of hate. We must be unequivocal".
