Sudan to expel 15 UAE embassy staff from country

Sudan has decided to expel from the country several employees of the embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Some 15 employees of the UAE embassy were declared persona non grata, Reuters reports.

They are ordered to leave Sudan within two days. The temporary Charge d'Affaires of the Emirates has already been informed about the decision. The reasons for the decision of the authorities of the republic are not specified.

Currently, the civil war between the army of the current government of the republic and the Rapid Reaction Force (RRF) continues in Sudan. The conflict began in April 2023. The parties share contradictory information about their successes in fighting and control of facilities, unleashing a large-scale information war in the media and social networks.
