Trade turnover between Azerbaijan, Japan up

Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov has said that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Japan increased by 49 per cent in 2023 compared to 2022 and reached $452 million.

The deputy minister expressed hope for further growth in trade turnover between the two countries, Report informs.

“The results of negotiations related to an agreement on the promotion and protection of investments between Azerbaijan and Japan will make an important contribution to increasing investments,” he noted.

Mammadov also stressed the potential for expanding cooperation between the two countries in the non-oil sector and services.

“Promotion of the export of products which are produced in the Azerbaijani industrial zones to the Japanese market, attraction of Japanese companies to investment projects in these industrial zones will also contribute to the expansion of bilateral relations,” he said.
