Azerbaijani minister, Latvian Parliament speaker discuss COP29 preparations

Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, COP29 President-designate Mukhtar Babayev has discussed with Speaker of Latvia’s Parliament Daiga Mierina preparations for the upcoming 29th session of COP in Baku.

The parties also discussed issues of environmental protection and the possibility of further cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change will be held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, in November this year. This decision was made at the COP28 plenary meeting held in Dubai on December 11 last year. Within two weeks, Baku will become the centre of the world and will receive about 70-80 thousand foreign guests.
