UNESCO to host centenary event marking First Turkological Congress
An international event marking the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress will be held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris later this year, organisers said.
Aktoti Raimkulova, president of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, said the commemoration would be organised with the participation of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture, permanent missions of Turkic states to UNESCO, and Turkic cooperation bodies, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
She made the announcement during a plenary session held as part of Turkic World Week, which is dedicated to the centenary of the historic congress.
Raimkulova said the initiative was intended to strengthen shared cultural memory among Turkic peoples, deepen cooperation between related institutions, and raise international awareness of the congress’s historical significance.
