Azerbaijan ensures energy security across entire region and Europe, bp’s rep says

bp's Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye Gary Jones has stated that Azerbaijan bolstered energy security across the region and Europe through three decades of oil and gas field development.

He highlighted the Southern Gas Corridor, spanning over 3,500 kilometres, as pivotal in supplying Europe with natural gas, citing it as a remarkable achievement in engineering and technology, Caliber.Az reports citing the local media.

Jones expressed confidence that the talented students at the Baku Summer Energy School will play a significant role in the intricate process of energy transition.

bp is a key player in Azerbaijan's energy sector. The company is involved in major oil and gas projects, including the development of offshore fields in the Caspian Sea and the construction of pipelines like the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline and the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC). bp's activities in Azerbaijan have contributed significantly to the country's economy and its role as a crucial energy supplier to Europe.
