MFA: Azerbaijan to continue taking measures to ensure integrity of its borders
The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry has said that Azerbaijani conscript Anar Kazimov died from a gunshot wound on August 3 morning as a result of intensive shelling of the positions of Azerbaijani troops in the Lachin district by illegal Armenian armed groups from the territory of Azerbaijan, in which the peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is temporarily located.
The Azerbaijani side has repeatedly stated that Armenia has not fulfilled the obligations assumed upon the tripartite agreement dated November 10, 2020, and that the illegal Armenian armed groups have not yet been removed from the Azerbaijani territory, APA reports with reference to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
“The bloody incident that occurred on August 3 once again demonstrates that Armenia grossly violated the tripartite agreement, and at the same time undermined efforts towards the normalisation of relations between the two countries. This also shows Armenia's disrespect for the efforts of international mediators,” the message said.
The Armenian political and military leadership, which has not yet withdrawn its illegal armed groups from the territory of the neighbouring country, is fully responsible for the incident on the Azerbaijani territory.
“We will continue taking all corresponding measures to ensure the security of Azerbaijan's territories and the integrity of its borders. May all martyrs rest in peace!” the message said.
