Industrial production up in Azerbaijan
The industrial enterprises and private entrepreneurs produced industrial products worth 49.3 billion manats ($29 billion) in Azerbaijan from January through July 2022, which is 1.5 per cent more than in the same period last year.
Production in the oil and gas sector of the industry remained unchanged, while in the non-oil and gas sector it increased by 10.7 per cent over the past year, Report informs referring to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.
Some 75.6 per cent of industrial products were produced in the mining sector, 20.5 per cent - in the processing sector, 3.3 per cent - in the production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, and 0.6 per cent - in the water supply, waste treatment and processing.
Commercial oil production in the mining sector decreased by 4.5 per cent, commercial gas production increased by 15.3 per cent.
The production of vehicles increased by three times, the production of cars, trailers and semi-trailers - 2.6 times, the production of pharmaceutical products - 2 times, the production of electrical equipment - by 63.9 per cent, the production of furniture - 56.5 per cent, the production of clothing - 52.0 per cent, production of machinery and equipment - 39.0 per cent, production of computers, electronic and optical products - 34.5 per cent, production of finished metal products - 32.4 per cent, production of leather and leather products, footwear - 29.4 per cent, production of printing products - 26.5 per cent, production of building materials - 24.9 per cent, production of chemical products -18.0 per cent, production of metallurgical products - 17.2 per cent, paper and cardboard products - by 16.7 per cent, food products - by 11.5 per cent, rubber and plastic - by 9.5 per cent, woodworking and wood products - by 0.8 per cent, production of tobacco products decreased by 2.4 per cent, drinks - by 6.9 per cent, oil products - by 11.6 per cent, installation and repair of machinery and equipment - by 20.3 per cent, textile - by 24.6 per cent.
The volume of production increased by 2.2 per cent in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, while the water supply, waste treatment, and recycling spheres saw a 4.8 per cent increase.
