Ambassador: Azerbaijan, Belarus paving way for new Eurasian logistics network

27 May 2025 12:54

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Azerbaijan Dmitry Pinevich has said that Azerbaijan and Belarus are becoming strategic partners in linking the “North–South” and “East–West” transport corridors - a key step in shaping Eurasia’s new logistics network.

Pinevich made these remarks during an international roundtable in Baku. The event was focused on Azerbaijan’s growing role in the integration of Eurasian transport networks, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

"Given their unique geographic and economic positions as key transit countries, Belarus and Azerbaijan are exceptionally well-positioned to collaborate on connecting the North–South and East–West corridors,” Pinevich stated.

“For Belarus, in particular, the combination of these diagonal routes presents substantial strategic value."

The ambassador underscored the importance of considering economic factors in the development of these corridors, pointing to Azerbaijan’s model of inclusive and adaptive policymaking as a valuable asset.

“Azerbaijan’s distinctive approach — marked by mental flexibility and its embrace of multiculturalism — creates a conducive environment for resolving challenges and fostering cooperation among all stakeholders shaping Eurasia’s transport framework,” Pinevich noted.

“I am confident this roundtable will be recognised as one of the most impactful platforms for expert diplomacy.”
