Ambassador: Azerbaijan-UAE fraternal relations constantly developing
UAE Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohammed Murad Al Blooshi has said that diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were established on September 1, 1992.
“Since then, significant achievements and success have marked the development of bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and UAE. The two countries signed a crucial document—a Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Partnership—and emphasised that thanks to the strong will of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the friendly and brotherly relations between the two nations continue growing,” he said, Caliber.Az reports.
Al Blooshi also noted that major UAE companies, Masdar and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), are implementing significant projects in Azerbaijan.
“We take pride in our joint efforts to address the global issue of climate change through COP29. The UAE supports Azerbaijan with its extensive experience. Once again, we congratulate dear Azerbaijan on hosting this important international event,” the diplomat added.
Baku will host the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). A group of Eastern European countries has chosen Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to host COP29 climate talks next year. Earlier, Bulgaria withdrew its candidacy to host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in favour of Azerbaijan. Moreover, Baku and Yerevan agreed to support each other at some international venues. In a joint statement, Armenia said it would support Azerbaijan's bid to host the COP29 summit. The conference is being held in rotation by five UN regional groups, and Eastern Europe will take part next year.
