Armenia declares readiness to open borders with Türkiye immediately
Secretary of the Armenian Security Council Armen Grigoryan has said that Yerevan is ready to normalise relations with Ankara.
“Armenia agrees to resolve the issue with the Armenian-Turkish border, which has been closed at Türkiye’s initiative for almost 30 years,” he said, Gazeta.ru reports.
“You know about Armenia's approach. Armenia is ready at any moment to open the border and normalise relations. The sides continue discussing [issues related to the border], hoping that this will happen [opening the borders at least for third-country nationals], as soon as possible,” Grigoryan added.
The secretary noted that the sides agreed to open the border of the two countries for representatives of third countries.
He also added that these agreements have not been implemented yet, the dialogue between Yerevan and Ankara continues.
