Armenia detains ex-MP VIDEO
Former MP from the Prosperous Armenia party, assistant professor at Yerevan State University's Political Law Department Gevorg Petrosyan has been detained.
His lawyer Raffi Aslanyan said he was detained on suspicion of violence and interference in the work of the Patrol Service, Oxu.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The lawyer presented a video of the road incident on his Facebook page, noting that the action captured on the footage does not coincide with the signs of the crime incriminated to Petrosyan.
As reported, the officers of the Patrol Service, rudely blocking his way, stopped the car that Petrosyan was driving. Unreasonably, without indicating any offense, they tried to take him out of the car, explaining that he had committed a violation.
Petrosyan, cautiously bypassing them, continued driving in the direction of his house, located a few hundred meters away, parked in the yard to find out the reasons for the dubious pursuit on the spot.
