Armenia has no grounds to make statements on Azerbaijan's sovereign territory Permanent representative says at UN

Tofig Musayev, the Azerbaijani Deputy Permanent Representative at UN, has said that Armenia has no grounds to make statements regarding the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan.

He made the statement at the plenary session of the General Assembly on "Responsibility for the protection and prevention of genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity", Trend reports.

“The so-called 'Nagorno-Karabakh', which Armenia stubbornly refers to, has long ceased to exist as an administrative-territorial unit. This territory, which was under the illegal occupation of Armenia for almost three decades, is an integral part of Azerbaijan. The legal name of this territory is the Karabakh economic region. Armenia must remember this name and never forget it.

Armenia has no legal, political or moral grounds to make any statements or comments regarding the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan or issues within the exclusive rights, competence and obligations of Azerbaijan. Instead, Armenia should seriously take care of its international obligations and strictly observe the Charter of the United Nations and international law,” the statement says.
