Azerbaijan among nations targeted by politically motivated Red Wolf hacker group
Azerbaijan has been identified as a target of cyberattacks by the Red Wolf hacker group, according to recent international reports.
The cybersecurity portal TechOwlShield reported that Red Wolf, a group known for using computer-based methods to advance political agendas or promote social change, has added Azerbaijan to the list of countries affected by its DDoS attacks.
Caliber.Az cited the State Service for Special Communications and Information Security, which confirmed the report. In addition to Azerbaijan, Red Wolf has targeted France, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Portugal, Greece, and several other countries.
The group conducts distributed denial-of-service attacks aimed at disrupting the operations of government agencies, financial institutions, and critical infrastructure.
In light of these developments, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Security emphasized the importance of enhancing monitoring of Azerbaijan’s governmental networks and systems and implementing measures to strengthen cybersecurity.
