EP chief welcomes Azerbaijani-Armenian peace progress
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola has welcomed the recent initialing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, describing it as a crucial step toward lasting peace in the region.
Metsola made the remarks following a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the sidelines of the European Political Community (EPC) Summit held in Copenhagen, Caliber.Az reports.

In their discussion, Metsola also praised Armenia’s commitment to deepening ties with Europe and advancing shared values of democracy, stability, and prosperity.
“I welcomed the deal between Armenia and Azerbaijan which gives real hope for lasting peace,” Metsola said in a statement posted on X.
The Armenian leader also underlined the importance of the outcomes from the Washington Peace Summit and progress on the TRIPP project.
