Armenia in web of national debt
As of the end of July 2023, Armenia’s national debt amounted to about $11.35 billion.
According to the Armenian Finance Ministry, compared to the beginning of the year, public debt increased by $714 million or 6.7%, and at the end of July 2023 amounted to about $11.35 billion, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian media.
The report also said that domestic public debt is growing faster than external debt. Thus, as of the end of July, Armenia’s external public debt amounted to 6.66 billion dollars, having increased over the seven months of this year by 218 million dollars or 3.4%.
At the same time, domestic debt is growing at a faster pace. Over the seven months of this year, domestic debt increased by $496 million, or 11.8%, and amounted to $4.68 billion.
