Armenia's birth rate keeps dropping

The birth rate in Armenia continues to decline, as does the mortality rate.
In 2022, the marriage rate in the country went down, while the divorce rate surged, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
According to the demographic indicators for 2022 published by the State Statistics Committee of Armenia, 36,623 children were born in 2022, which is 270 fewer than in 2021. Thus, last year's totals are equal to those of 2020.
Last year’s mortality figures showed that 26,805 citizens died in the country, which is 7,833 less than in 2021.
The country registered a total of 16,795 marriage cases in 2022, while in 2021, the figure was 370 higher.
In addition, 4,525 divorce cases were confirmed in 2022, which is 91 cases more than in 2021.
