Armenia’s leadership sees dialogue with Azerbaijan, minimal opposition at home
Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan has announced that reciprocal visits between Armenia and Azerbaijan will continue, emphasizing that dialogue remains an essential part of ongoing regional engagement.
“Contacts will continue: Azerbaijani delegations will visit Armenia, and Armenian delegations will visit Azerbaijan,” Simonyan told journalists, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Addressing domestic politics, the parliamentary speaker asserted that Armenia’s current leadership faces no genuine political opposition. According to Simonyan, critics of the government resort to personal insults rather than presenting meaningful policy alternatives.
“Please tell me, what concrete proposals have our opposition colleagues put forward, aside from advocating Armenia’s integration into Russia and Belarus?” Simonyan remarked.
