Armenian authorities call for Russian incomers to settle in for the long haul
Vahan Kerobyan, head of the Armenian Economy Ministry, advised to spare no efforts to ensure that the newly-arrived Russians do not leave the country and stay for long.
"We must do everything so that they [Russians] stay in Armenia as long as possible," the minister said during a meeting of the parliamentary commission for regional issues and Eurasian integration, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
According to Khachatur Sukiasyan, an MP from the Armenian "Civil Contract" faction, Russian specialists have positively influenced the situation in the IT sphere in Armenia; therefore, everything should be done to maintain this effect.
It is also reported that Kerobyan expressed concern about the initiative of Vyacheslav Volodin, Speaker of the Russian State Duma, to raise taxes for Russians who left their home country this year.
