Armenian media: Ex-president Ter-Petrosyan thwarts opposition’s plans to oust PM Pashinyan
Armenian newspaper Hraparak has published an article saying that Ex-president Ter-Petrosyan thwarted the opposition’s plans to remove Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“It became known that the secretary of the ‘Armenia’ faction Artsvik Minasyan, speaking about the reasons for the failure of the National Committee, said that they presented an interim government led by Arman Tatoyan, but there was one condition,” Caliber.Az quotes Hraparak’s article as saying.
“This idea should have also been publicly supported by all former presidents and Catholicos, but, unfortunately, the negative reaction of the office of the first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan made this idea unrealized.
This statement was denied by Tatoyan and the press secretary of the first president, Arman Musinyan. However, people related to this process tell other details. So, in particular, the head of the National Committee Vazgen Manukyan tried to negotiate and meet with various parties, including Levon Ter-Petrosyan.
He stated that he was ready to put aside all long-standing differences with him and personally negotiate to get the country out of this situation, but the first president of Armenia rejected the offer of a meeting,” the report says.
