Armenian opposition exhausts its resources - ruling party MP
The Armenian opposition has exhausted its resources from the internal political viewpoint.
The secretary of the parliamentary faction of Armenia's ruling Civil Contract party, Artur Hovhannisyan, made the statement on May 23, Caliber.Az reports, quoting Armenian media.
He explained that this was evidenced by their previous actions.
According to him, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, an MP from the “Armenia” bloc, has exhausted himself as a political figure.
"Therefore, I do not take his statements seriously," Hovhannisyan noted.
However, the MP assured that Armenia is a "democratic country" and everyone can express their views and hold meetings.
"The main thing is that no one should harm the state interests by their actions, otherwise the opposition from our side will be quite strict and within the law. We exercise power through a mandate given by the people. There can be no such thing as an opposition going out in the streets, gathering a certain mass and changing the state policy," Hovhannisyan said.
However, he specified that he had not visited the parents of the deceased servicemen who were sleeping outside the Armenian government building, assuring that representatives of the ruling party were in touch with them.
"We live in a state governed by the rule of law and we are not going to interfere with the legal process," the MP concluded.
