Armenian PM links petrol price drop to Azerbaijani imports
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has credited a recent fall in petrol prices in Armenia to fuel imports from Azerbaijan.
According to Armenian media, Pashinyan shared a video on social media in which he said that Azerbaijani petrol imports had contributed to lower fuel costs in the country, Caliber.Az reports.
He added that since mid-December 2025, the minimum price for premium-grade petrol had fallen by 15%, from 510 Armenian dram (around $1.33) per litre to 430 dram (approximately $1.12) per litre.
On January 8, the Armenian Ministry of Economy confirmed that a second shipment of petroleum products from Azerbaijan arrived in the country.
The shipment includes 1,000 tons of A-92 gasoline, 1,000 tons of diesel, and 1,800 tons of A-95 gasoline.
Armenia received its first Azerbaijani fuel consignment in December 2025, when a train carrying 1,218 tons of A-95 gasoline arrived at Ayrum station via Georgia.
