Armenian PM, US official discuss peace process with Azerbaijan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and US Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights Uzra Zeya have engaged in discussions focusing on the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The talks underscored the commitment of both parties to advancing genuine peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, with Under Secretary Zeya reaffirming the US dedication to ensuring security and stability in the region, Caliber.Az citing the Armenian government.
In the realm of bilateral cooperation, Pashinyan highlighted the continuous support of the US in promoting democratic reforms within Armenia. Specifically, Pashinyan emphasized initiatives targeting justice, anti-corruption measures, governance enhancement, public services, and law enforcement.
"The development of democracy holds strategic and priority significance for the Armenian government," Pashinyan, underlining Armenia's commitment to democratic principles.
Zeya assured that the US administration places great importance on deepening cooperation with Armenia, pledging ongoing technical and financial assistance for the advancement of democratic institutions.
She commended recent strides made in Armenia towards enhancing democracy and stressed the significance of programs and reforms aimed at safeguarding human rights, upholding freedom of speech, ensuring justice, and combating corruption.
