Armenian prime minister highlights diaspora’s role in renewed Türkiye ties
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan convened with representatives of the Armenian community in Istanbul during his working visit to Türkiye.
Pashinyan emphasized that his visit materialized as a direct result of recent intensified diplomatic engagement with Türkiye, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
He expressed optimism about the upcoming meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, anticipating that their discussions would inject fresh momentum into bilateral relations.
Highlighting the foundation of his visit on interstate Armenian-Turkish relations, Pashinyan described the ongoing process as a mutual agenda rooted in the interests of both nations. He further acknowledged the crucial role that the Armenian community in Türkiye plays in facilitating the establishment and deepening of these diplomatic ties.
During the meeting, Pashinyan addressed questions from attendees concerning various pertinent issues, including the current visit’s objectives, prospects for peace-building between Armenia and Azerbaijan, regional developments, and the ideological framework underpinning the concept of “Real Armenia.”
