Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, met with Marco Arcelli, the CEO of ACWA Power, a leading Saudi Arabian energy company, to discuss exciting new opportunities for collaboration in renewable energy and water desalination projects.

The meeting, which was held to strengthen ties between the two sides, highlighted the significant role of ACWA Power's ongoing projects in Azerbaijan, the ministry told Caliber.Az.

These initiatives, designed to diversify the country’s energy resources, are crucial for boosting Azerbaijan's environmental sustainability.

ACWA Power’s innovative approach and experience in the energy sector were also recognized, particularly their ability to implement cutting-edge, clean, and cost-effective solutions. The company has been instrumental in introducing energy efficiency projects and sustainable water resource management systems across the globe.

One of the key topics discussed was the future of seawater desalination in Azerbaijan, a project that aligns with the country’s goals to ensure a reliable and sustainable water supply. Jabbarov and Arcelli also explored potential future initiatives that could further enhance Azerbaijan’s energy sector, focusing on renewable sources and smart resource management.

ACWA Power, known for its leadership in renewable energy in Saudi Arabia, continues to make its mark globally as a developer, investor, and operator in renewable energy and desalination projects in various countries.
