Azerbaijan advances construction of new railway line in Nakhchivan TRIPP route/Video
Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) is progressing with the construction of a new railway line in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the company’s press service said.
The project includes the reconstruction of 10 stations along the 194.1-kilometre route and the construction of 814 engineering structures, including 29 bridges, 4 tunnels, and 12 galleries, Caliber.Az reports.
The first stage of design and construction, which began at the end of last year, focuses on the stations of Salammalik, Ordubad, Aza, and Julfa.
The railway, connecting with the Zangezur Corridor, is expected to provide direct land communication between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan.
It will also offer access to Turkish, Armenian, and European markets, serving as a key segment of the Middle Corridor and linking to the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) on the Armenia border in Ordubad.
