Azerbaijan airlines resumes direct flights to Tehran

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has resumed direct flights between Baku and Tehran, with services starting on September 6.

The move follows the relaunch of the Baku–Tabriz–Baku route on September 4, which had been suspended for several years. Both steps were taken in line with instructions from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports.

AZAL said flights to Tehran will initially operate twice a week. The renewed services mark a further reopening of air connectivity between Azerbaijan and Iran after a prolonged hiatus.
