Azerbaijan, Armenia draw up terms for launching border demarcation
The telephone negotiations with the Armenian Foreign Minister yielded certain results.
The statement was made by the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at a press conference following a meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, Report informs.
During the meeting, Bayramov discussed the post-conflict situation and the issue of returning internally displaced persons to the liberated territories and also informed his Georgian counterpart about the work to sign a peace treaty with Armenia and about his phone talks with Armenia’s Foreign Minister, Ararat Mirzoyan.
“I’ve already had two telephone conversations with the Armenian Foreign Minister. Сonditions have already been drawn up for the Commission on delimitation and demarcation of borders to start working,” Bayramov noted.
The minister also noted that Azerbaijan and Armenia negotiated on the personnel to work for the Joint Border Commission, and reached an agreement on the soonest holding of a meeting of the Commission, as well as a working group to compile a peace agreement.
In addition, Bayramov emphasized the importance of opening communications in the region.
