Azerbaijan, Australia ink renewable energy deal PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Energy Ministry and the Australian company Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) have signed a framework cooperation agreement on renewable energy projects, as well as the study and development of the green hydrogen potential in Azerbaijan.
The signing ceremony of the framework contract took place in an online format, Report informs, citing the ministry.
The contract provides for the study and implementation of projects with a total capacity of up to 12 GW of renewable energy and green hydrogen production in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov expressed confidence that cooperation with FFI will contribute to energy security.
FFI Executive Chairman and Founder Andrew Forrest said that the signing of the framework agreement once again demonstrates the potential of the existing partnership.
