Azerbaijan Aviation Academy, Bayraktar Teknoloji ink cooperation deal
The Azerbaijan National Aviation Academy and Bayraktar Teknoloji Azerbaycan LLC have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to foster cooperation.
The document was signed by the Rector, Academician Arif Pashayev, and the Director of Bayraktar Teknoloji Azerbaycan, Huseyn Topuz, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Academy.
The memorandum outlines mutual collaboration in science, education, research, and production, including joint projects, training programs for students and faculty, professional development courses, and internships.
During the signing ceremony, guests were shown the Academy’s educational and research laboratories, production facilities, Student Creativity House, and the Texnoritm Center.
Bayraktar Teknoloji Azerbaycan LLC is a subsidiary of Baykar Makina, a leading Turkish defence technology company renowned for its development of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) such as the Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akıncı. Established in 2022, Bayraktar Teknoloji Azərbaycan was founded to enhance Azerbaijan's defence capabilities through local UAV production, maintenance, and training programs.
The company's establishment aligns with Azerbaijan's strategic objectives to bolster its technological autonomy and defence industry. By leveraging Baykar's expertise, Bayraktar Teknoloji Azərbaycan aims to contribute to regional security and foster closer defence ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
In October 2025, Bayraktar Teknoloji Azərbaycan signed a memorandum of understanding with the Azerbaijan National Aviation Academy. This partnership focuses on collaborative efforts in science, education, research, and production, including joint projects, training programs, and internships for students and faculty.
