Azerbaijan bolsters energy security of neighbours and Europe, minister says

Azerbaijan’s development of green energy projects plays a key role in strengthening the energy security of its neighbouring countries and European partners, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said.

Speaking at a press conference following the 12th ministerial meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 4th ministerial meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council in Baku, Shahbazov outlined Azerbaijan’s strategic approach to green energy development.

He emphasised that green energy rests on three core pillars. “These are energy capabilities, economic parameters and, of course, environmental sustainability. By developing green energy projects and planning the export of green energy in various directions across the European continent, we primarily ensure the energy security of Azerbaijan as well as our closest neighbours and European partners,” the minister stated.

Shahbazov also stressed that through the implementation of its energy programs to date, Azerbaijan has made a substantial contribution to environmental security, both within the country and among its international partners.
