Azerbaijan boosts oil exports to Italy by nearly 50% in 2025
From January to August 2025, Azerbaijan exported the largest volume of its oil to Italy – 9,198,216.58 tonnes, marking a 47.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
According to Caliber.Az, citing the State Customs Committee, the value of oil exports to Italy also rose by 21.9%, reaching $4,801,518,970.
The second-largest importer was the Czech Republic, which purchased 1,217,841.38 tonnes of Azerbaijani oil during the period (up 4.5%) worth $653,375,340 (a decrease of 11.6% in value).
Croatia ranked third, buying 919,870.22 tonnes of oil (down 8.5%) for a total of $497,444,690 (a 20.7% decrease in value).

Overall, according to the State Customs Committee, Azerbaijan exported 15,924,752.22 tonnes of oil to 20 countries from January to August 2025, which is 3.3% less than the same period in 2024, for a total value of $8,396,005,890 (a decline of 18.5%).
Previously, in 2024, Azerbaijan exported 23,596,132.23 tonnes of oil to 25 countries (a decrease of 9.4% compared to 2023), with a total value of $14,437,355,990 (a drop of 11.1%).
